About Dr. Alex Pessoa

Dr. Alex founded Peak Performance Health Centre in 2004, starting as a single chiropractor with a vision to provide world-class chiropractic care in his hometown of Cambridge. With experience working with professional sports teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL) and Esporte Clube Bahia (Brazilian professional soccer), Dr. Alex set out to deliver exceptional health care, keeping patients at their peak performance.

Over the years, Dr. Alex expanded his expertise with certifications in Active Release Technique (ART), Guasha, and Kinesiotaping, along with completing an International Chiropractic Sports Sciences Diploma. His dedication to sports chiropractic led to an opportunity at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.

In addition to his practice, Dr. Alex has contributed to the education of future practitioners by teaching Clinical Assessments and Anatomy at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy for 10 years. He’s also held leadership roles, including Co-chair of the Cambridge and North Dumfries Doctor Recruitment Task Force, Chair of the Doctors of Tomorrow Committee, and he has been the President of the Montessori School of Cambridge Board of Directors for the last 6 years. In his free time, he dedicates himself as a trainer for the Cambridge Hawks, where his son plays hockey.

At Peak Performance Health Centre, our goal is to offer comprehensive chiropractic care and complementary therapies like physiotherapy, massage therapy, and nutrition counseling to help every patient achieve optimal health and performance.
